So what do we need to do about that?

Well, let's talk about it.

Today we're going to talk about how to start your day.

Not once in a while, not optionally, but every day.

Now, I want to refer to the Olympics or to world Championships or the World Soccer Cup.

The A National Hockey League championship just took place a few weeks ago and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and my team lost.

Boo hoo.

Speaker A

They lost to Florida.

Speaker A

Fine.

Speaker A

The Florida team wanted it more.

Speaker A

When you think about something at that kind of level, you know the kind of work and preparation that goes into that.

Speaker A

If you've ever played sports or done music or art or anything else at that kind of championship level, you know the preparation that it takes, the focus, the clarity, the dedication, the discipline, whatever word you want.

Well, I'm going to give you the secret right now to having that power every day.

Speaker A

You also know the kind of productivity you get, or I get when we're in flow, that magical state where nothing matters and time passes in a weird way and you're creative and you're focused.

What if you could do that?

On purpose.

In fact, let me ask it differently.

Why can't you do it on purpose?

Like, who says you can't?

Speaker A

I'm here to tell you you can.

So here's the deal.

Let's get busy and I'm going to teach you how to create an awesome day every day.

Now, that doesn't mean you're not going to have a jet engine fall on your house every once in a while or, you know, the IRS or the revenue agency do something, or the weather wreck your plans or a flood happen.

We're watching those natural disasters unfold right this minute.

Speaker A

As I recorded a few weeks ago, there were these terrible floods in Texas that were once in 500 years or a thousand years lost.

Speaker A

Cost a lot of people their lives.

Speaker A

Those things happen.

Speaker A

But even when they do, or some smaller version of those, we have the ability to be resilient and powerful.

And it doesn't come by accident.

Speaker A

It comes from preparation.

Speaker A

Somebody said we don't rise to the occasion.

Speaker A

We default to the level of our training.

Speaker A

So this that we're going to talk about is body, mind, spirit, emotional training.

Speaker A

So you can rip up your day every single time.

Speaker A

So here's why this matters.

Speaker A

By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly how to start your day with purpose, power, and presence.

If you think about your days over the last two weeks, how many of them have been rock star days where you.

Everything went right and you just crushed it?

Speaker A

How many?

Speaker A

What would it be worth to you to have the ability to have that all the time?

That's what we're going to create here.

Number one.

Speaker A

Let's talk about why it matters.

Speaker A

When you, when I or you, when we get up and the way we start our day is scrolling and looking at the news or thumbing through the phone, you know, ooh, the phone, right, Messages.

Speaker A

I wonder if this client said that, or I wonder if that deal went through, or I wonder if the news thing or this riot happened, or, you know, this Supreme Court ruling, or, you know, how my bank's doing, or, you know, whatever it is, if that's our first thought, then looking at that and getting involved in that hijacks our presence in our day.

Speaker A

I'm not pretending those things don't need attention.

Speaker A

But if you are going into an important conversation with someone, anyone, work, personal, and you are scattered and fearful, how effective is that conversation?

Speaker A

It's not and you know it.

Speaker A

If, on the other hand, you've done some thinking and you're prepared, you're humble, you're focused you're ready to set boundaries and stand your ground, and you're clear and full of love.

Speaker A

The chances of that conversation going better or perfectly are dramatically increased.

Speaker A

Now, we can't control what others do, and I'm not pretending we can, but we are prepared.

Speaker A

So when you think about why it matters, why your morning matters.

Speaker A

I had a weird experience a few years ago.

Speaker A

I got up in the morning and I did my morning preparation.

Speaker A

I call it a dcp Daily Creation Process.

Speaker A

I did it, and I was feeling great, and I was out walking the dog.

Speaker A

And then I got a phone call, and it was something bad, really bad.

Speaker A

And then I got an email and it was something worse.

Speaker A

And then more and more.

Speaker A

And there were three or four, maybe four things.

Speaker A

And I say, maybe because it's been a while, but there were several things that happened literally within a space of five minutes where I went from feeling really good about life in the day to ready to cry, meaning in frustration, helplessness, just blown away.

Speaker A

And, you know, like, I wanted to.

Speaker A

I was out walking the dog when I got the last of these, and I just wanted to sit down on the corner.

Speaker A

I was walking through a big undeveloped area.

Speaker A

Well, it was developed, partially developed, but there were lots of just sidewalks and roads and not very many houses yet.

Speaker A

And it was big, like a whole mile square.

Speaker A

So it was a big development.

Speaker A

But anyway, I wanted to just sit down on the.

Speaker A

On the curb on the corner and just, like, have a breakdown, right?

Speaker A

A mental breakdown or emotional, spiritual, whatever.

Speaker A

And then I noticed something.

Speaker A

I saw my dog, and the dog was with me.

Speaker A

You know, it had walked with me all the way through all those troublesome things, and the dog was happy.

Speaker A

And there was a rabbit that ran out and tugging on the lead, you know, wanting to chase the rabbit.

Speaker A

And I thought it was funny.

Speaker A

I thought, now the dog is with me through all this stuff, and the dog's not having any of it.

Speaker A

Like, fun, laughing, doing whatever.

Speaker A

Dogs laughing, right.

Speaker A

Sometimes dogs look like they're grinning, don't they?

Speaker A

But anyway, and I thought.

Speaker A

I realized this entire drama from stoked to destroyed has happened inside here.

Speaker A

Like, there's nothing going on that would drive that, the weather is beautiful, etc.

Speaker A

Etc.

Speaker A

And I thought, no, wait a minute.

Speaker A

If that all happened in my head, then I can undo it.

Speaker A

Because the fear and the pain and the worry were my projections about the consequences of these phone calls and emails that were.

Speaker A

That were damaging.

Speaker A

And I realized, okay, I can control this.

Speaker A

So the thing to take.

Speaker A

And I was able to.

Speaker A

And there's a whole process.

Speaker A

Okay, here's the truth.

The state of your morning becomes the state of your day, your week, your month, your mission, and your masterpiece.

Managing or controlling, or the better word is creating.

Speaker A

Your morning is the harbinger, the bellwether of your day, week, month, mission and masterpiece.

Speaker A

That's how important it is to do this.

Speaker A

So I'm gonna talk about exactly how to do this.

Speaker A

The first thing you do is stillness.

Speaker A

First, when the alarm goes off, or if you don't use an alarm.

Speaker A

I rarely do, but I wake up at the same time within a few minutes every day because I've trained my body to do that.

Speaker A

If the first thing we do is take input from, you know, stuff around us, we're going to be distracted, we're going to be less than our best.

Speaker A

Instead, enter stillness.

Speaker A

Enter the space of the divine.

Speaker A

Now, you and I both know there is a divine essence.

Speaker A

I call it God, you can call it whatever you like.

Speaker A

Unity, oneness, non duality, the universe, my higher self, I don't care.

Speaker A

But there is one and you know it.

Speaker A

And we distance ourselves from it a lot until we learn not to.

Speaker A

Part one is to choose to enter stillness.

Speaker A

Connect with the divine.

Speaker A

How?

Speaker A

Well, let's.

Speaker A

Let's make this easy.

Speaker A

Pray, meditate, read some sacred literature.

Speaker A

And if you don't have any, find a book, scripture, or another book that is so inspirational to you, so encouraging.

Speaker A

Every time you read feels like energy to your soul.

Speaker A

Find that.

Speaker A

I wrote this book living with purpose and power, to be one source of that.

Speaker A

So if you don't have anything else living with purpose and power, get that.

Speaker A

But find a thing.

Speaker A

Whether it's your own conversations with God or it is meditation, which is just the act of being still, like intentionally.

Speaker A

And enter stillness.

Speaker A

That's part one.

Speaker A

A way to think about that is to create before you consume.

Speaker A

Create stillness in your mind.

Speaker A

I'm not talking about making videos.

Speaker A

Create stillness.

Speaker A

Create space.

Speaker A

Inspiration and blessing happen in space.

Speaker A

And the voice of the spirit is tiny stillness.

Speaker A

It happens.

Speaker A

It's always described as a still, small voice, even though it is the voice of infinite power.

Speaker A

So start there.

Speaker A

The second thing is to remember that your morning is creative time, not reactive Time.

Speaker A

Save that.

Speaker A

Okay, here's a.

Speaker A

Here's another thing you can do.

Speaker A

Write one sentence.

Speaker A

Not 50 thing, one sentence that you're grateful for or a piece of your vision.

Speaker A

One of the ways I ask this, in a funny way is you have a.

Speaker A

You have a way.

Speaker A

You.

Speaker A

You have a way you'd like to help people.

Speaker A

I call it adding good to the world.

Speaker A

Serve people.

Speaker A

Whatever it is you have that, you know it.

Speaker A

You think about it.

Speaker A

So think about this way.

Speaker A

What would the world look like if you were able to complete your vision in its fullest, grandest sense?

Speaker A

If you were able to do that, what would the world look like?

Speaker A

Answer that question about gratitude.

Speaker A

Here's a really good practice.

Speaker A

Think one thing that you're really grateful for.

Speaker A

I mean, really.

Speaker A

And then just think about that until the neurotransmitters and chemistry of gratitude have got you pumped.

Speaker A

The second piece is to move your body.

Speaker A

Move the temple of your spirit.

Speaker A

Your body's a temple.

Speaker A

I don't care how broken it is.

Speaker A

Mine, I wear hearing aids.

Speaker A

I wear weird special contacts or I can't see.

Speaker A

My back is now deteriorated enough that I use a cane.

Speaker A

So there are things that I could be concerned about or complain about my body, but I don't.

Speaker A

I love it.

Speaker A

It is the spirit.

Speaker A

It's.

Speaker A

I mean, the container of my spirit.

Speaker A

It is that thing.

Speaker A

And I love it.

Speaker A

I love it.

Speaker A

I love it.

Speaker A

I own it.

Speaker A

I want it.

Speaker A

Think about that, okay?

Speaker A

Move your body.

Speaker A

Even if it's just stretching for 10 or 15 minutes.

Speaker A

Bend over, touch the floor.

Speaker A

Lay down on the floor.

Speaker A

Spread your legs.

Speaker A

Put your face down.

Speaker A

You know, there's a dozen yoga poses, martial arts stretches, you know, those kinds of things to just honor the temple.

Speaker A

The.

Speaker A

The next thing, in just five or 10 minutes, just to wake it up and pay honor to it.

Speaker A

The next thing that really moves me is my daily declarations and declarations are the most powerful articulation of the vision.

Speaker A

And the declarations I use are in this book, okay?

Speaker A

And they are.

Speaker A

They are mighty.

Speaker A

They burn the walls down.

Speaker A

They make me weep.

Speaker A

They get my soul fired up.

Speaker A

Bey obstacle.

Speaker A

Now, think about it.

Speaker A

When I prepare myself that way, connected to the divine, with my body, owning me, you know, I own it and we're doing it together.

Speaker A

And then I've made the declarations of who I am in the world and what I'm about, I don't care what happens.

Speaker A

I don't care if it's what I wanted or not.

Speaker A

What I wanted, quote good or bad, you know, Expected or unexpected, I am powerfully prepared.

Speaker A

And that gets you in a place where you can handle anything.

Speaker A

And if things are even okay, then you're in your wild, creative mode.

Speaker A

All right?

Speaker A

And also create some structure.

Speaker A

I have three non negotiables.

Speaker A

I picked three things I'm going to do today.

Speaker A

I don't size them, so they fill up the whole day.

Speaker A

I just look at all the things.

Speaker A

Business, personal, everything.

Speaker A

These three things, they're happening today because I said so.

Speaker A

This is important.

Speaker A

Well, pick three non negotiables.

Speaker A

We all have a to do list.

Speaker A

It's way too long.

Speaker A

Who cares?

Speaker A

Pick three that are non negotiables and then say, I will do these today no matter what, so you don't get distracted.

Speaker A

So that preparation process will get you fired up.

Speaker A

Now, I've given you some very specific things to do in the book.

Speaker A

And you may have your own list and your own book and your own methodology.

Speaker A

That isn't the point.

Speaker A

The point is, are you doing it every single day?

Speaker A

And you know how you know the answer to that?

Speaker A

Doing it isn't checking boxes.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Yeah, I did it.

Speaker A

I did it.

Speaker A

The real question is, did it work?

Speaker A

And by work, I mean are you on fire, in love with yourself?

Speaker A

At a minimum, your partner, if you have one.

Speaker A

Your God, your creator, your mission, your purpose.

Speaker A

Do you feel that fire and energy?

Speaker A

And if you don't, it didn't work.

Speaker A

So find a new one or do it again.

Speaker A

You're going to anchor that activity so that it guides your day.

There are three things that are part of the mission and message that I have now.

You guys know my mission is to reach 300 million people with what?

You know, a feather?

Speaker A

Just say something to him.

Speaker A

No.

Speaker A

W, I, P, O, S. Wipos.

Whipos.

Speaker A

I know.

Weird word, huh?

It's an acronym.

Speaker A

It stands for worth, identity, possibility, ownership, and sovereignty.

Okay.

Worth, identity, possibility, ownership, sovereignty.

Worth is an acknowledgment and an understanding that you are divine, you are sovereign.

Speaker A

Worth is infinite.

Speaker A

So your worth is infinite.

Speaker A

You're created by God with a purpose, for a purpose, not accidentally, even if your Life is tough.

Speaker A

Your identity is.

Speaker A

The pedigree of your spirit is a single line.

Speaker A

You, God doesn't matter how many grandparents and generations there were of your body.

Speaker A

Your spirit comes from the divine.

Speaker A

Your possibilities are infinite.

Speaker A

And it's only you that limits what you create.

Speaker A

Your money, your circumstances, your health.

Speaker A

That doesn't.

Speaker A

Every single person I know is dealing with a little health or a lot.

Speaker A

You know, right now I've got several things going on.

Speaker A

I don't care.

Speaker A

I'm about my mission anyway.

Speaker A

And does it get in the way?

Speaker A

Sure.

Speaker A

It makes it so I do less in a given day.

Speaker A

I don't care.

Speaker A

I love you.

Speaker A

I'm here to lift you, bless you, encourage you, acknowledge you, tell you how great you are, because I know it.

Speaker A

Every person I meet, I'm overwhelmed.

Speaker A

I feel in awe.

Speaker A

And that includes you.

Speaker A

Of your possibilities.

Speaker A

Oh, is ownership.

Speaker A

You own your life.

Speaker A

Stop giving it away.

Speaker A

Stop hiding, shrinking, accommodating.

Speaker A

Being a doormat.

Speaker A

Now, that doesn't mean brash or pushy or negative.

Speaker A

It just means weigh what you are here to do against everything else.

Speaker A

Are we you and me, together?

Speaker A

I mean, this is all for me too.

Speaker A

And that's how I discovered it.

Speaker A

Is doing it for me.

Speaker A

Are you doing what you came to do?

Speaker A

Are you sidetracked?

Speaker A

Doing some other crap?

Speaker A

The end of the day, week, month, year, decade, you want to look back and say, I did what I came to do.

Speaker A

S is sovereign sovereignty, which means.

Speaker A

Yeah, regal, kingly, queenly, you're in charge.

Speaker A

You are it.

Speaker A

And if you don't abdicate, then you'll realize that we abdicate so often, we give our power away.

Speaker A

Okay?

Speaker A

Now, all of this is done for one reason, and that is so that you and I can fill your mission.

Speaker A

And I don't know what your mission is, but I know one characteristic of it, one characteristic of your mission is to add good to the world.

Speaker A

Now, whether you deal in healing or whether you deal in being the very best attorney you can be, that's upright and ethical, or whether you're an accountant or an author or a publisher or an engineer or an energy worker, or a person who creates alignment, I got friends that heal and elevate people's souls with the sound of their voice.

Speaker A

I know a lady who's an opera, was an opera singer, and she uses her voice to create resonance in people's hearts that will do this lifting and blessing.

Speaker A

I know a guy that does the same kind of thing, and he works with all kinds of people, but even teams of executives.

Speaker A

This is not just woo woo weird stuff in some tent.

Speaker A

It is the truth of our bodies and spirits.

Speaker A

He's able to tap into it in this particular way.

Speaker A

So we are here to love and serve each other.

Speaker A

We are here to add good to the world.

Speaker A

That's it.

Speaker A

And if we choose to do that, we win.

Speaker A

And if we choose to abdicate within, we didn't do what we came to do.

Speaker A

You know what the good news is?

Speaker A

It's never too late.

Speaker A

I don't care where you are or where you've been.

Speaker A

I don't care what you have missed in the past or mistakes you've made.

Speaker A

If all that was determinative, I'm dead.

Speaker A

Because I didn't even start on this mission until I was 52.

Speaker A

Before that, I was living somebody else's script with somebody else's direction, somebody else's should do this, somebody else's goals, Somebody else telling me where I needed to be, what I needed to do to be happy, how much money I need to make and who I needed to.

You know, all of that, it was embedded deep from my childhood and other things, you know, in my DNA that was the right thing to do.

Speaker A

And it's all nonsense.

Speaker A

And it doesn't mean that the things you've been told or taught are wrong.

Speaker A

It means until you own them, they don't matter if you're doing them just because they're bogus, nonsense, nothing.

Speaker A

They won't last.

Speaker A

You'll fall apart.

Speaker A

Because the energy of truth and creation comes from your own certainty.

Speaker A

It comes from owning a thing in your heart.

Speaker A

No permission, no excuses, no agreement by anybody else.

Speaker A

You own it now.

Speaker A

What I have discovered as I've gone through this process is many of the things that I learned in my socialization and upbringing I have returned to, but in a different way.

In a way that I own them and love them and see them and value them.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

One of the things I love to do is write.

Speaker A

I've written 20 books.

Speaker A

I'm in the middle of two more, about a third of the way done with each.

Speaker A

It's unusual to write two books at once, but I am.

Speaker A

I love the recording studio.

Speaker A

I write music all the time and sing and perform.

Speaker A

Those are the ways that I am adding good to the world.

And why would you argue with the truth?

So now let's talk about some more things about how to get this done in a way that matters and lasts for you.

One is consistency.

Speaker A

Consistency.

Speaker A

You know, when people teach about social media, I remember one guru that I followed for a while and their stuff was good.

Speaker A

So I don't say that in a diminutive way, is that consistency trumps content.

Speaker A

That doesn't mean you can post garbage, although some people do.

Speaker A

But the fact that you are consistent matters.

Speaker A

Now we're talking about shaping your life and owning your day and miracle mornings and magic power.

Speaker A

That's what we're talking about.

Speaker A

Consistency matters a lot.

Speaker A

I taught piano for maybe on and off for about 40 years, from when I was 17 till I was 57.

Speaker A

I quit teaching about 12 years ago.

Speaker A

I'll be 70 this year.

Speaker A

And in those 40 years, I noticed some really interesting things.

Speaker A

Those that practiced nearly every day for even 30 to 45 minutes got way better, way faster than those that were sporadic.

Speaker A

Even if the number of hours on the bench was more, you know, big long binge, practicing on the weekend or skipping a lot of days, it just didn't add up.

I noticed that in my own as I prepare for concerts, playing the piano or singing or speaking or all of is better.

It more muscle memory, more available, more power, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

When you're consistent, your daily preparation is the same.

Speaker A

So one of the things I do when I'm coaching people and I've coached people to make hundreds of millions of dollars, so it isn't just about woo woo stuff, it's about hard cold cash.

But the point is, are you happy Because I can tell you right now, if you have a boatload of cash and you're miserable, it won't work and it won't matter, and you'll hate yourself and everything.

So the key is your spirit, your heart, happiness, joy, your purpose, your power.

Money is easy to create from a place of alignment.

Speaker A

Most people that I talk to that say, I'm a healer and then say, I can't make money, what's wrong with me?

Are not truly in alignment.

Speaker A

They are not happy.

Speaker A

Happy doesn't depend on cash.

Speaker A

Happy is a choice, and it's an internal state.

Speaker A

Consistency trumps anything else.

Speaker A

So you pick, devise, design, a daily creation process.

Speaker A

Let me help you.

I'm the best in the world at it, and I can help you do that.

One that gives you power, determination, discipline, and loving yourself.

And then from that place, creating money, creating a following, creating an impact, raising your kids, repairing or building a relationship with your significant other, your wife, your husband, or your partner that's so available to you.

And it depends on you.

You can't fix anybody else.

The only person you can work on is you.

You know that.

Speaker A

But we still want everybody else to change, so the world will be like we want.

So consistency is key.

One, number two, create habits.

And by that, consistency leads to habits.

Speaker A

But here's.

Speaker A

I want you to think about habits.

Speaker A

Some Studies say that 75, 80, 85% of what we do is habit.

Speaker A

And that's good, because habits make great servants, but they make terrible masters.

Speaker A

So let me give you some examples.

Speaker A

If your habit is when the alarm goes off, you hit snooze 1, 2, 3, 4 times.

Speaker A

That is a habit that robs you of the best hour of the day.

Speaker A

The first one accompanying that is the feeling inside.

Speaker A

Oh, I need to get up, I need to get up, I need to get up.

Speaker A

So not only do you have a habit of wasting the time, you have a habit of feeling bad already.

Speaker A

If you recognize that, raise your hand.

Speaker A

I can't see.

Speaker A

Anyway, we can end that habit just one day.

Speaker A

Tomorrow, set your alarm and get up.

Speaker A

One way to make that habit meaningful is to say, the minute I hear it, I will get up, hit the floor and do a little stretch, wake up my body, or I'll dash in the bathroom, brush my teeth to wake up, do something.

Speaker A

Remember I said, start with entering stillness.

Speaker A

And if you lay in bed and try to enter stillness, you'll probably go back to sleep.

Speaker A

So you have to develop the practice in a way that energizes your spirit.

Speaker A

Not that is fake and puts you back to sleep.

Speaker A

Prepare your environment.

Speaker A

So if you're going to journal in the morning or go for a walk or go for a jog or walk the dog or whatever it is, set it up.

Speaker A

Set it up the night before.

Speaker A

Why it maximizes the chance of success.

Speaker A

Put your alarm a little further away.

Speaker A

But if you're using your phone like I am, put your phone charger over there.

Speaker A

So excuse me.

Speaker A

So you got to get up to turn it off.

Speaker A

I mean, these are all simple things, but you'd be surprised how many people don't do it.

Speaker A

Now, if you get up and have coffee first thing in the morning, you know the T shirt says, don't talk to me, I've had coffee.

Speaker A

Set a list of things that you're going to do just before that.

Speaker A

I know I'm going to go make my morning coffee and do whatever.

Speaker A

Okay, how about a list of things that I do before that?

Speaker A

I'm going to sit for five minutes with myself and think about how grateful I am to be alive, to be breathing, to have the business I have, the partner I have, the kids I have, the health I have, even if it's not all the way like my mine.

Speaker A

You know, my getting out of bed is an ordeal.

Speaker A

It hurts every morning without fail.

Speaker A

So part of my routine is I have to go take a little pain meds, my, you know, Tylenol, ibuprofen stuff.

Speaker A

I'm not on heavy stuff because I won't do that.

Speaker A

But I got to go do that first so that pretty soon I'll quit hurting.

Speaker A

I make a ritual out of that.

Speaker A

I drink a whole bunch of water with it.

Speaker A

Why?

Speaker A

To hydrate the body.

Speaker A

Then I move and I start doing things to increase circulation and get that stuff flowing in my system.

Speaker A

Then I sit quietly for a little while.

Speaker A

My morning ritual takes two hours, two and a half hours, because I want it to.

Speaker A

When I teach, it's 40 minutes.

Speaker A

Forgiveness and dedication are the key.

Because if I don't forgive me, and if I don't forgive you, then what am I carrying?

I'm carrying around negative energy.

I'm mad at you, I'm upset at the world, God, the economy or whatever.

And that doesn't build anything.

Animosity, negativity, never built anything lasting.

So all of this might be sounding difficult.

That's okay.

Speaker A

Those who dare greatly fail greatly.

I forgive myself right here, right now, Everything, every moment, because I said so.

Nothing is keeping me from grace, from joy and power, except my stories.

I choose to enter grace and power now.

And if you pray, pray that I do, I find great power and comfort in prayer.

I've seen miracles in my own life.

Now, I can tell you this.

When I first started on this journey of developing daily creation processes, I call them that instead of morning rituals or morning routines, because that's so cliche.

I failed a lot.

I need to get up in here and I need to do this, this, this, and, you know, and if I didn't just follow it precisely, oh, I'm behind the eight ball, I'm dead.

You know, I'm behind all day.

And I spent all day trying to make up for lost time.

Well, you know, the kind of energy that carried.

So that failed.

And gradually I paired it all with grace.

Am I fully in, on up, focused?
