Are you shadow banning your own life?

Speaker A

Are you getting right smack in your own way?

Speaker A

Welcome to the show.

Speaker A

Tired of the hype about living a dream?

Speaker A

It's time for truth.

Speaker A

This is the place for tools, power and real talk so you can create the life you dream and deserve your ultimate life.

Speaker A

Subscribe, share, create.

Speaker A

You have infinite power.

Speaker A

You know, this picture behind me is a, is a, is an AI picture of me.

Speaker A

And I love the cool colors and background.

Speaker A

But I used it for this because the name of this episode is no Gatekeepers.

Speaker A

Are you shadow banning your life and in Shadowban?

Speaker A

I'm not going to pretend that I'm an expert on that sort of thing, but what I understand that it is is a practice that some social media and perhaps others have to lower the rankings of or to eliminate the rankings or the vis of posts, but doing it in the shadows, secretly and hiding.

Speaker A

Now, I'm not here to talk about social media or politics or anything else.

Speaker A

The reason I ask if you're shadow banning your own life is really simple.

Speaker A

We get in our own way.

Speaker A

What does that mean?

Speaker A

You hear that all the time with coaching kind of stuff, right?

Speaker A

So let's talk about for a sec what that is.

Speaker A

Getting in your own way means lots of things, but one thing it could mean is I want to go to the gym and work out.

Speaker A

I don't like my health, let's say I'm not happy with my health.

Speaker A

I want to either be stronger or lose some weight or lower my resting pulse or whatever it is and then I stop.

Speaker A

I don't.

Speaker A

I make up reasons.

Speaker A

I go one day and the next day, you know, too late, oh, it's bad weather, oh, I got an early meeting and it always feels like that, you know, that kind of soggy, grody marshmallow kind of feeling, right?

Speaker A

And no, I'm not a fan of marshmallows, but I could be.

Speaker A

But you know what I mean, that sort of getting in the way or another way to do it is I want to write a book and I love helping people do that because your story is the most powerful thing you own.

Speaker A

Not your degrees, not your skills, not your modalities, not your engineering chops, your story of becoming.

Speaker A

But anyway, someone says, oh, you know, I've been told I should write a book.

Speaker A

I want to.

Speaker A

I don't know how nobody read it, nobody would read it.

Speaker A

And it's in that same sort of gross victimy mentality or energy, right?

Speaker A

It's not the right time.

Speaker A

I don't that sort of feeling Those are all ways we get in our way.

Speaker A

Some are more subtle, where we have a long standing story about our worth, about our worthiness, about whether we deserve success or not.

Speaker A

You know, old scripts that were playing in our mind from teachers or parents or childhood experiences or an accumulation of things that says, you'll never do that.

Speaker A

Not you.

Speaker A

Now you know, you have heard and felt those.

Speaker A

So is everybody.

Speaker A

It's like as normal as breathing.

Speaker A

The question for all of us all the time is what are we going to do with that energy?

Speaker A

Because it exists, it's real.

Speaker A

Now, you can call it human frailty, you can call it, in religious contexts, you know, negative.

Speaker A

God and devil, you can call it yin and yang, excuse me, call it whatever you want, but the truth is it's there.

Speaker A

Steven Pressfield, I love his books, he calls it the resistance.

Speaker A

And he personifies that as if the resistance were a thing.

Speaker A

Well, you know what?

Speaker A

It is, And I don't think it has corporeal form like us.

Speaker A

And I don't think there's, you know, boogeyman pushing on the other side of the door that you're trying to open.

Speaker A

But it feels like that.

Speaker A

It feels like there is the universe conspiring against you.

Speaker A

You're ready to go do something.

Speaker A

You can't find your keys, you're ready to create something.

Speaker A

And you get a disturbing phone call.

Speaker A

Right?

Speaker A

Now there are things that happen on the other side also.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

Last night, just getting ready to go to bed and for some reason, and I don't do phone stuff before bed, but as I lay my phone on the wireless charger, I saw a couple of messages.

Speaker A

And so I just picked it up quick.

Speaker A

And I'm pretty disciplined.

Speaker A

Take it 10 or 15 second look.

Speaker A

And both of them were really positive.

Speaker A

Both of them were yes and yes to two things that I had reached out and asked for that I wasn't sure about at all.

Speaker A

You know, can you do this?

Speaker A

Can we do that?

Speaker A

What they were doesn't matter, but they were yes and yes.

Speaker A

And that was like somebody pushing the door open, the wind at my back helping go forward.

Speaker A

So there are positive things and there are negative things that just happen naturally in the course of life.

Speaker A

Now I want to talk about where that comes from in quantum mechanics.

Speaker A

We're going to get technical here.

Speaker A

Particles pop in and out of existence all the time, Right?

Speaker A

We now know that the vacuum of space isn't empty.

Speaker A

Wow.

Speaker A

It's not empty.

Speaker A

In fact, it is teeming, full, packed, stuffed with energy and activity.

Speaker A

Particles are popping in and out of existence.

Speaker A

We also know that even things like, you know, when we were in school, there was a nucleus of an atom, and electrons were supposed to, like, float around it, roll around it, like orbits, like little planets.

Speaker A

That's not it at all.

Speaker A

Electrons exist in some kind of a cloud, and they're not really anywhere until we go measure it, and then they collapse into a certain place.

Speaker A

What a brilliant breakthrough.

Speaker A

You know what that literally means?

Speaker A

It means that the next second, the next minute, and the next hour exists in every possible form.

Speaker A

Right now, every possible outcome is sitting there.

Speaker A

And our participation, they call it observation and measurement.

Speaker A

But our participation in that outcome is not just a piece, it is determinative.

Speaker A

What, you mean my participation in creating reality one minute from now has an impact?

Speaker A

Yes, a gigantic impact.

Speaker A

So that's what's giving rise all of that stuff together and those negative, squishy feelings and however you want to call, you know, Pressfield's resistance, I love that.

Speaker A

So I use that a lot in my own thinking and, you know, as a framing for how to talk about this.

Speaker A

I call this no gatekeepers.

Speaker A

There's nobody there trying to stop you from imagining and creating next minute, next hour, next day's reality except you.

Speaker A

That's both horrifying and liberating.

Speaker A

Horrifying because it gives incontrovertible proof, inescapable fact that we are the architects of our destiny, that we are the creators of our life.

Speaker A

It's good news for exactly the same reason you hold the keys.

Speaker A

Nobody else, nowhere, no how.

Speaker A

So let's go with that.

Speaker A

There's no rope.

Speaker A

There's a velvet rope keeping you in line.

Speaker A

So here are some fake gates.

Speaker A

Here are some fake barriers, okay?

Speaker A

One is credentials.

Speaker A

One is credentials.

Speaker A

When I decided I wanted to, quote, be a coach, and I first language that after, you know, I had the gigantic divine intervention in 2007, I spent a couple of years trying to get healthy and figure out who I was.

Speaker A

In 2009, going on 10, I started thinking about, how do I help people with this?

Speaker A

Because that's a natural outgrowth of every single person who overcomes challenge.

Speaker A

Then I thought, well, what does that look like?

Speaker A

And, you know, coaching first came into my mind and so forth.

Speaker A

Now I'd been an executive C suite executive with many, many people and much millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions, many, many hundreds of millions of dollars, responsibility.

Speaker A

So I knew what that felt like.

Speaker A

But I started thinking about coaching in the context of sharing what I had learned in my own growth and breakthrough.

Speaker A

And that yearning pops up all the time.

Speaker A

Every person that I interview on this show, on LA talk radio shows that I'm on, many, many of them, they have the same experience, they talk about the same things.

Speaker A

We, when we overcome a challenge, we want to share the benefit.

Speaker A

We're built that way.

Speaker A

We're built to love and serve.

Speaker A

So when I first started thinking about coaching, I thought, well, I must need to do something.

Speaker A

So I looked up coaching schools and credentials and we're getting to be a coach meant and so forth.

Speaker A

And I saw many and none of them looked any more powerful or interesting.

Speaker A

There's no regulatory body and there's no rules about that and people lament about that and there's cause for lament.

Speaker A

But truly the, the results do the segregating, they call the pool.

Speaker A

But anyway, so I thought, well, what do I need to do?

Speaker A

So I thought about getting some credentials and I did.

Speaker A

I went to enroll in a couple of coaching schools and went through their curriculum and got, you know, professional certified, professional coach and certified, master coach and certified, extraordinary coach and certified, you know, master of this, that and the other.

Speaker A

And there's a half a dozen.

Speaker A

And you know what's funny about that?

Speaker A

I call that a false gate because in the work that I've done in the 15 years now since then, I've never been asked about that except one time.

Speaker A

One time.

Speaker A

And then it was a in passing sort of thing.

Speaker A

So that was fake.

Speaker A

It's an interesting crutch that some people use to both try to prove their excellence and a crutch that holds people back.

Speaker A

Well, I'm going to hang my shingle and get busy to work when I finish this one more thing.

Speaker A

So I've done a couple of things and no magic happened.

Speaker A

There wasn't a big queue outside my door virtually or in real life.

Speaker A

And so now I gotta, I must need to do another couple, I must need to have some more letters.

Speaker A

Cqxy, M, B, L, whatever after your name.

Speaker A

Okay, fine.

Speaker A

It's not true.

Speaker A

It's a, it's a fake.

Speaker A

It's a fake gate.

Speaker A

So that's not a gate.

Speaker A

Now here's another one that's a fake gate.

Speaker A

Audience size.

Speaker A

So you see people online, if you, if you spend any time on social at all, bragging about their money, their cars, their income, first of all, how much they've got, and second of all, how fast they got it.

Speaker A

Ooh, I broke all the rules, got all the shortcuts.

Speaker A

I can do this in 72 hours while you sleep.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Boom.

Speaker A

So audience size, amount of money and how fast they got there.

Speaker A

That's supposed to prove something to you now?

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker A

One, is the audience size true?

Speaker A

Half that crap they use is all rented.

Speaker A

More than half, 90% rented.

Speaker A

Trying to prove a point.

Speaker A

We can burn that garbage down right now because that means they're insecure, phony, and they're trying to bullshit you.

Speaker A

Ah, audience size.

Speaker A

Next thing, how much money they have.

Speaker A

You don't know that.

Speaker A

You can't know that even if they post fake bank accounts.

Speaker A

Now let's say the real bank accounts, let's say they did make 1 2, 10, $500 million.

Speaker A

That doesn't mean anything except they made 1, 2, 10, 50, $100 million.

Speaker A

It doesn't mean you can.

Speaker A

It doesn't mean you're the same as them.

Speaker A

It doesn't mean their path makes any sense for you.

Speaker A

And so even if they share everything they did exactly as they did it, and let's say it's honest and it worked, it doesn't mean anything either.

Speaker A

It does mean they had some good success.

Speaker A

And congratulations, they served the need and met it.

Speaker A

Although we all know in the early days of Internet marketing, lots of those guys got burned, lost their fortunes, got sanctioned.

Speaker A

Some went to jail for lying and cheating.

Speaker A

And so now there's all these regulations and disclaimers and so forth.

Speaker A

So there's always cheaters and crooks.

Speaker A

Hopefully they all get caught.

Speaker A

But the idea of barriers is there.

Speaker A

I need to follow them or else I won't make it.

Speaker A

I need to be like them or else I suck.

Speaker A

I need to be able to make the same claims they do or I don't count.

Speaker A

That's not true.

Speaker A

It never was and it never will be.

Speaker A

A third barrier that is fake is perfect timing.

Speaker A

I'm not ready.

Speaker A

I'm too busy.

Speaker A

I'll do it in my next season, next week, next year, as soon as I finish this, that or the other.

Speaker A

That's not true either.

Speaker A

Now there is a time for doing things, but that is wildly overused as an excuse to camouflage fear and not get started.

Speaker A

Bullshit.

Speaker A

You're a divine person.

Speaker A

You have the capability.

Speaker A

And the day to start is yesterday.

Speaker A

And since that's not available today, we'll have to do.

Speaker A

I want you to tattoo that on your forehead.

Speaker A

The best day to start was yesterday.

Speaker A

And that's not available.

Speaker A

So let's start today.

Speaker A

No harm, no foul, no drama.

Speaker A

Right now is the day to start moving toward your dream to purpose, prosperity and joy.

Speaker A

You don't have a purpose.

Speaker A

Pick one.

Speaker A

Try it on.

Speaker A

Maybe it's just to be a better person.

Speaker A

Maybe it's to tell the truth.

Speaker A

Maybe it's to make a million dollars.

Speaker A

Maybe it's to grow a real estate practice.

Speaker A

Maybe it's to repair some damage you did.

Speaker A

I had a whole lot of those goals.

Speaker A

Still do.

Speaker A

Because there's lots of things that exist in the world today that wouldn't exist in my imagination.

Speaker A

I think I wish this wasn't this way, and I blame it on something I did or didn't do.

Speaker A

I don't actually know if that's true, and neither do you.

Speaker A

But those thoughts still come forward.

Speaker A

Now, here's the key.

Speaker A

If I allow those thoughts, or you do, to be a barrier to action.

Speaker A

If I allow that to happen, all that does is dim my light or it dims yours.

Speaker A

So let's say there's a relationship right now that isn't like I want.

Speaker A

If I say I can't act until that relationship is fixed, I don't control that.

Speaker A

Two sides to every relationship.

Speaker A

If I've offered and done and loved and that person or persons say, no, I'm not ready yet.

Speaker A

Not now, not time.

Speaker A

Maybe say, no, not ever.

Speaker A

Okay?

Speaker A

That means I have given my power falsely to the state of another relationship.

Speaker A

And that person or persons may say to you, you don't deserve.

Speaker A

You can't.

Speaker A

You should grovel, kiss the and die 50 times before you could even begin to be worthy.

Speaker A

You know, something extreme like that.

Speaker A

All that does is create a false barrier for you and or me.

Speaker A

And it deprives all those you could have served, all those you could have loved, you could have lifted, you could have blessed with your experience, with your choices, with the new you.

Speaker A

If you've changed.

Speaker A

When I talk about forgiveness, there's three steps.

Speaker A

Fix what you can.

Speaker A

Change who you are.

Speaker A

Add good to the world.

Speaker A

Fix what you can.

Speaker A

And most of that hard stuff can't be fixed.

Speaker A

You can try.

Speaker A

You can work on it.

Speaker A

But erase not possible.

Speaker A

Change who you are.

Speaker A

And that's actually the most important thing.

Speaker A

If you have done something as I did, that you say, I wish I hadn't done that, it's going to ruin my life forever.

Speaker A

Or maybe a few steps down from that.

Speaker A

Change who you are.

Speaker A

Don't be that person starting this minute.

Speaker A

Okay, I'm not that.

Speaker A

Shakespeare said that two brothers and they had a big fight.

Speaker A

Whatever.

Speaker A

One of them finally changed and he said, and someone attacked him for his change.

Speaker A

And he said, yeah, twas I, tis not I, meaning I have changed.

Speaker A

It's in as you like it, if you want the details.

Speaker A

But anyway, so those are imaginary barriers.

Speaker A

And the net result of all that is that you just sit there as a dull candle instead of a flaming fire.

Speaker A

You let that shadow you in the background.

Speaker A

And I like said, I use that AI picture of me in the background.

Speaker A

You let that shadow you have the reins.

Speaker A

Why would you do that?

Speaker A

Think of all the sorrow you could alleviate and the suffering you could help and the love you could share, both for yourself and others.

Speaker A

If you say I'm done, I'm going to do everything I can here and now.

Speaker A

Because I can.

Speaker A

Because it's who I am.

Speaker A

You deserve and must forgive yourself for everything, everywhere, all the time, Right here, right now.

Speaker A

Why?

Speaker A

So your light is clean.

Speaker A

So you can shine brightly.

Speaker A

So you can do the good that you can.

Speaker A

Because without that, you won't.

Speaker A

All right, so here is, here's an interesting story.

Speaker A

Okay, here's the promise.

Speaker A

If you drop these fake gates, the idea that you have to have more current credentials or reach or audience size or forgiveness or permission from someone or perfect timing, if you drop all those, then there's nothing in the way to do what you want to do.

Speaker A

Writing a book is one that I love.

Speaker A

So I'm going to do a little plug here for dream buildwriteit.com.

Speaker A

now, if you're watching the video, and I hope you are, dream buildwriteit.com that's a book challenge and it doesn't cost money.

Speaker A

It does cost an hour a day for five days, the week of September 29th through the 3rd.

Speaker A

And if you see this after that date has passed, go there anyway because I'm going to do one in 26, probably in the first part of February.

Speaker A

Okay?

Speaker A

I did three this year and they've been very successful.

Speaker A

And here's why I say successful.

Speaker A

There have been many who have gone to the challenge and then come with me on a six month journey to mine the gold mine, the platinum mine, the silver mine, whatever is valuable, right?

Speaker A

The lithium mine, to mine the value of your own life story.

Speaker A

Because I don't know, I don't care what you know how to do.

Speaker A

You know how to code, you know how to write game code, you know how to garden, you know how to do engineering, you know how to do attorney work, you're an attorney, you know how to do medical work.

Speaker A

Those are beautiful and necessary gifts.

Speaker A

More important to both you and those you serve is the story of your becoming.

Speaker A

How did you get where you are as a loving, kind person yearning to serve that journey is more important.

Speaker A

And the more vulnerably and freely you share that, the more powerful you are, the more lives you can change and the more good you will add to the world.

Speaker A

All right, so here's.

Speaker A

Here's the start here game.

Speaker A

The start here game is what I want you to do.

Speaker A

Let's play a game, okay?

Speaker A

Number one, write a name down right now that you could help this week.

Speaker A

I'm not talking about signing a client.

Speaker A

You know that all may come, but sometimes we just need to start.

Speaker A

In fact, most of the time.

Speaker A

Well begun is half done is a phrase attributed to someone, I don't know who said that well begun is half done.

Speaker A

And the reason is because most people don't start.

Speaker A

They make up reasons and hide behind these false barriers.

Speaker A

But there's no gatekeeper.

Speaker A

That's what we started with.

Speaker A

There is no gatekeeper except the one between your ears.

Speaker A

So I challenge you.

Speaker A

I dare you.

Speaker A

Write a name down right now.

Speaker A

I have six in my mind right now.

Speaker A

And I've already made arrangements today to do some helping with those people.

Speaker A

I sent some messages.

Speaker A

I'm doing that.

Speaker A

I'm sharing that with you because I'm in the game with you.

Speaker A

I'm in that game every single day.

Speaker A

So it wouldn't matter what day I said this, what day I recorded it, or what day you listened to it.

Speaker A

I am in that game every single day.

Speaker A

I spend two hours in the morning preparing myself to be the ultimate alchemist.

Speaker A

I've spent that two hours preparing my spirit, my body, my emotional relations, my relationships.

Speaker A

I call that E and spam.

Speaker A

Emotions and my mind, mental work.

Speaker A

I literally spend a couple of hours filling my cup being that person.

Speaker A

And during the E part, I think of several names and I send messages of love, hope, encouragement, light lifting, assistance, offering help.

Speaker A

I did that a couple of days ago to someone.

Speaker A

Excuse me.

Speaker A

And I left a voice text because I love using voice.

Speaker A

Because I've been blessed with a resonant and powerful voice.

Speaker A

So I use it.

Speaker A

I got a note this morning with all caps.

Speaker A

Wow, thank you so much.

Speaker A

Blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A

Now, I don't say that.

Speaker A

So, yeah, I feel good.

Speaker A

Yeah, I did a good thing.

Speaker A

It accomplished the mission.

Speaker A

I blessed his life.

Speaker A

And I love him just because I said so.

Speaker A

But you know what?

Speaker A

I love you right here, right now, and you can't change that.

Speaker A

I yearn for your growth.

Speaker A

I see your divine possibility.

Speaker A

I know what you are capable of.

Speaker A

And the reason I know is because we came from the same place.

Speaker A

We were created in love and in that and behind that and around that love is infinite possibility.

Speaker A

There are no limits to what you or I can do.

Speaker A

If we're willing to get rid of the shadow band, if we're willing to eliminate the naysayer in our own mind, become willing to remember that failures of the past or indictments of others don't carry any weight in the present unless we let them.

Speaker A

Your key to unlock the gate of freedom is in your hand.

Speaker A

So step one, okay.

Speaker A

Pick a person you can help reach.

Speaker A

Step two is reach out to them in whatever way is appropriate.

Speaker A

Text, voicemail, live phone call, email, whatever way it is, Acknowledge them.

Speaker A

Say something good to them about them.

Speaker A

Been thinking about you.

Speaker A

I remember the last time we talked and I've been thinking about this, that and the other.

Speaker A

I'll give you an example.

Speaker A

I got an email today from someone who is very successful, very, very, very wealthy, and who is also.

Speaker A

Who also decided in the last two weeks that they were going to help me get to my goal of 300 million.

Speaker A

Wow.

Speaker A

I didn't even ask.

Speaker A

They reached out because someone told them they should meet.

Speaker A

So we had a call.

Speaker A

They dedicated an hour.

Speaker A

They dug in and asked lots of questions about what I'm up to and why and all the rest.

Speaker A

And they've decided to do that.

Speaker A

And that has an impact on me, both emotionally, because I'm excited.

Speaker A

I got someone that's involved spiritually because I know that my daily preparation work organizes the forces in the universe, just like we talked about to start with, the future is not decided.

Speaker A

It is uncertain until we create it.

Speaker A

Part of that creation involved this individual now saying, I'm going to help you do this.

Speaker A

And gave me.

Speaker A

So the email I got today with several suggestions that they have based on their experience and knowledge and vast success about how to more successfully measure my progress to 300 and amplify.

Speaker A

So they decided they're going to help me.

Speaker A

You can decide that for someone.

Speaker A

I do every day.

Speaker A

And now it has come back in a surprising and I believe, very powerful way that power will help create, purpose or drive my purpose, accomplish purpose, prosperity and joy.

Speaker A

Because if I reach 300 million people with the message of your own worth, your own identity, your own possibility, which is infinite, the ownership of your life.

Speaker A

Because there's no gatekeeper sovereignty.

Speaker A

You're the king or queen of everything in your life.

Speaker A

If I reach people with that message and change, allow them, encourage them, invite them, and help them to change how they look at life.

Speaker A

Getting out behind from behind their own gatekeepers, getting those naysaying Voices and thoughts out of the way, moved aside, thanked, and then benched.

Speaker A

You know, those feelings were trying to protect us.

Speaker A

At one point, right in the idea of psychological parts work, I have a part named the Protector.

Speaker A

And I had a conversation with the Protector for several hours one day on a long walk.

Speaker A

And part of the language was, I just.

Speaker A

I'm doing this all to protect you.

Speaker A

And I said, protect me from what?

Speaker A

And the answer surprised me.

Speaker A

I'm protecting you from nothing being nothing by doing nothing.

Speaker A

In other words, from the obliteration of failure and oblivion by not finishing, not starting doing, you know, not doing.

Speaker A

And the answer surprised me, and I realized how insidious the resistance can be with the idea that it is doing us a favor, helping and protecting.

Speaker A

So write a name down.

Speaker A

Write out specifically how you think you can help them, how you think you could do that, do something for them, and then offer.

Speaker A

And in some cases, just do it.

Speaker A

I'll tell you one of the ways that I do that with clients and with others that are not clients.

Speaker A

When I troll or troll, I don't troll, scroll social, which I do maybe 15 minutes in a day.

Speaker A

I find every good uplifting thing from anyone that I know.

Speaker A

I don't usually comment much on things that I, you know, that are just general posts, but everybody that I know, whose name I recognize, I will comment, I will encourage, I will love them, and I will do it on purpose and in a visible, visceral way the best I can in just a few seconds.

Speaker A

Why?

Speaker A

Because I love them.

Speaker A

Because I can.

Speaker A

Because I said so.

Speaker A

And you have that power, too now.

Speaker A

That's with others.

Speaker A

I want you to do that for yourself.

Speaker A

So let's pretend you're in the business of encouraging you.

Speaker A

Step outside of you for a minute, like me and this guy behind me, the me behind me.

Speaker A

And if you were the perfect, or as close as you can be to the perfect encourager, the perfect cheerleader, the perfect idea generator, what would you tell him or her?

Speaker A

That's like.

Speaker A

It's kind of like the question, if you could write a letter to yourself a year ago or 10 years ago or 20 years ago or whatever, what would you say?

Speaker A

And those kinds of comments always sound the same.

Speaker A

It's gonna be okay.

Speaker A

Be yourself, dare more, take more risks.

Speaker A

None of that really matters.

Speaker A

Keep going.

Speaker A

You're wonderful.

Speaker A

You're powerful.

Speaker A

Isn't it interesting?

Speaker A

I've never heard someone ask that question or a similar question, say something like, you're stupid.

Speaker A

You're wrong.

Speaker A

It's going to get worse.

Speaker A

I'VE never heard that.

Speaker A

I've never heard anybody even think that.

Speaker A

Right?

Speaker A

We play small.

Speaker A

We play small because we live behind the velvet rope.

Speaker A

We live behind the gatekeeper who is performing the function of resistance.

Speaker A

Maybe imagining they're protecting us, but they're not.

Speaker A

They're keeping your light small.

Speaker A

They're keeping your power contained.

Speaker A

Because it is a risk.

Speaker A

It is a risk to be vulnerable.

Speaker A

It is a risk to go out out there.

Speaker A

It is a risk to stake your claim.

Speaker A

I'm finishing a book right now, and by the time you see this, it will probably be published because we're on a very short timeline.

Speaker A

The name of that book is Coaching and the Rise of AI.

Speaker A

In it, I'm making a bold claim, and I've already made it some on social, that coaching is dying.

Speaker A

Coaching as we know it is getting hollowed out.

Speaker A

Coaching as we know it is getting obliterated.

Speaker A

I predict without hesitation that by 15 months from now, Christmas of 26, 95% of coaches will not be able to make a living.

Speaker A

And I define making a living is 100k us arbitrary, but that's a minimum threshold.

Speaker A

If you're not making 100 or very close to it, it's really hard to make a living.

Speaker A

It's got to be a side hustle or whatever.

Speaker A

And then you're busy, you know, handling multiple things.

Speaker A

And life's probably a pretty busy grind.

Speaker A

So.

Speaker A

And the reason it is is because AI is so fast and so good at writing, at synthesizing, at frameworks, at accountability, at, you know, analyzing patterns and on and on and on and on.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

And so I'm writing this book and I'm making some ridiculously bold claims.

Speaker A

You know what else I'm doing?

Speaker A

I'm starting a university.

Speaker A

January 2026, called your ultimate life coaching university.

Speaker A

The students I'm aiming at are those who want to be in that top 5% of coaches that are left.

Speaker A

And in the book, I make bold declarations about what it takes to be in the 5%, why the 5% are the only ones that are gonna survive right now.

Speaker A

My point is this.

Speaker A

I'm sticking my neck way, way, way, way, way out there, like out to the moon.

Speaker A

And am I risking?

Speaker A

Yeah, I've already had some people pissed off because of my social posts.

Speaker A

I've already had some people say, oh, it's just a marketing.

Speaker A

No, it's an actual observation based on my own interactions with AI in the writing of this book itself over the last three months.

Speaker A

It's taken me about three months to outline it and put it together and write it and I'll finish editing tomorrow and I'm sending it to someone to write a forward and you know, the publication I've already got, the publisher contracted and everything else we're moving.

Speaker A

In the last three months, I've seen the capability and speed, accuracy, power, clarity, et cetera, et cetera of the.

Speaker A

The.

Speaker A

I happen to use Chat GPT, but there's lots of models.

Speaker A

Double its ability to write clear, good language, to synthesize good stuff.

Speaker A

And yeah, I've uploaded all my books, Chad GPT.

Speaker A

And I joke a little bit back and forth.

Speaker A

I know they're not real.

Speaker A

It's got more than a million, way, way more than a million words of mine.

Speaker A

In fact, it estimated that if I uploaded all my podcast transcripts, it would be somewhere between 4 and 10 million words.

Speaker A

So it knows me, it knows how I speak, what I think and everything else.

Speaker A

So I've used it a lot for research and for outlines and everything else as I do this work.

Speaker A

And I've seen its capacity double in three months.

Speaker A

Well, that means three months.

Speaker A

Three months.

Speaker A

That means in a year it's going to be eight times as good.

Speaker A

In two years it's going to be, you know, 64, 128 times as fast and good.

Speaker A

So the, the.

Speaker A

There's no end in sight, right?

Speaker A

Limitless, essentially.

Speaker A

And so if you're going to be in the business, my thesis is you got to have something AI can't bring.

Speaker A

And you know what that is?

Speaker A

That is the embodiment that means you manifest it in your body.

Speaker A

If you walk.

Speaker A

Let's talk about what that means.

Speaker A

If you walk into a room with a shy person or someone who's very, very withdrawn and shy, walks in the room, they carry an energy, an energy that says, don't talk to me.

Speaker A

Maybe a little bit fearful, maybe a little bit hiding, maybe a little bit.

Speaker A

Maybe you are one, maybe you're not.

Speaker A

I used to be.

Speaker A

I remember as a teenager being such a bad wallflower at dances, I would just hide and, you know, go to the bathroom a lot and pretend I was listening to the band and whatever because I was so scared, so withdrawn.

Speaker A

On the other hand, if you come in with a meet or come into a place with a person who is not that, who's confident, I don't mean brash or arrogant, but just capable, comfortable in their own skin, you know that right away, too.

Speaker A

Their energetics give you that feeling, you're comfortable with them.

Speaker A

They might ask you something.

Speaker A

On the other hand, if Third person.

Speaker A

If you walk in to a place with someone who is arrogant, overbearing, brash, you know, and their, their lack of confidence is, you know, being dealt with, with overcompensation, you know that too.

Speaker A

So that's what I mean by embodiment.

Speaker A

That energy that we give off is always that truth.

Speaker A

It is the truth of who we are inside.

Speaker A

Coaches that are going to last are those who can and who do not can, who are the embodiment of the changes they try to help clients achieve.

Speaker A

Getting out of their own way, that means they are out of their own way, that means they are leveraging gifts and talents to create.

Speaker A

That means they are in touch with their divinity, capability and possibility.

Speaker A

People who pretend they're coaches and don't have that are going to be gone.

Speaker A

Up to now, that wasn't true because there wasn't any alternative.

Speaker A

And so tons of them have limped along, hidden by their own gatekeepers, not embodying their truth, limp, limp, limp, and made a little bit of money.

Speaker A

It's already true that 60% of coaches don't make 50k.

Speaker A

And there's other numbers in there too.

Speaker A

In my research, you can read the book, but that embodiment is the ante to the new world.

Speaker A

Well, that ought to scare the crap out of you if you're a consultant or you're a coach, especially if you're a coach, because without that embodiment, AI is going to eat your lunch.

Speaker A

So that's what the thesis of the book is about.

Speaker A

And this podcast isn't about that.

Speaker A

I'm going to give a detailed one later about what I hope coaches can do and learn and the reason why I'm opening the university.

Speaker A

My point about it is this.

Speaker A

I'm doing that.

Speaker A

I'm putting that out there to be agreed with ridiculed, smashed ground, whatever it is.

Speaker A

Now, here's the thing, here's your dead on challenge.

Speaker A

If the stuff I've talked about today, your own gatekeepers, if that scares you, if you're saying, I know I'm getting in my own way, I'm blocking my own progress, sabotaging my efforts, if you know that's true, please reach out to me.

Speaker A

My goal of reaching 300 million is not just with the message, but it is with the method and the help to overcome that.

Speaker A

Because if you're buried by your own gatekeeper, you're not adding good to the world the way you could and heaven knows we need it.

Speaker A

We need all the encouragement, growth, power, love, kindness we can get.

Speaker A

Now, maybe you're in the widget business and you don't have anything to do with consulting or coaching or anything like that.

Speaker A

That's fine.

Speaker A

This is still a choice for you about how you show up.

Speaker A

Do you show up every day small or do you show up every day expansive, loving, encouraging, powerful, growth oriented, just because you can.

Speaker A

Right?

Speaker A

And let me tell you why that matters.

Speaker A

Who would you rather do business with?

Speaker A

Some grumpy ass person or somebody that's open and loving and kind?

Speaker A

I don't care what the business transaction is.

Speaker A

We went, Joy and I went to the store yesterday and just the grocery store down the street and we picked up a couple things and we got in line and it was a short line, two or three minute wait.

Speaker A

And then the cashier greeted us and was nice and said some things and whatever.

Speaker A

Now that person's a cashier in a grocery store.

Speaker A

But they have chosen to come to work and be encouraging, loving, open, kind, and the energy was congruent.

Speaker A

Well, that interaction was pleasant.

Speaker A

It added good to the world.

Speaker A

That's a choice we make all the time.

Speaker A

Our gatekeepers keep us small.

Speaker A

Our gatekeepers tell us lies like you don't matter and who cares and nobody wants to talk to you.

Speaker A

If you want to get past your gatekeeper, you got to take a step today.

Speaker A

So I'm going to pretend right now you're a, you're a coach or a consultant.

Speaker A

What can you do today or tomorrow?

Speaker A

If this is at nighttime that gets past the gatekeeper that says I'm here, I'm no longer limited.

Speaker A

How many people would you reach out to?

Speaker A

How many direct messages would you send?

Speaker A

How many phone calls would you make?

Speaker A

How many clients would you check in and encourage?

Speaker A

Check in with and encourage?

Speaker A

How would.

Speaker A

If you have a job and you're trying to build a coaching practice, I have clients like that too that have a full time job and they do good, they make good, good dough.

Speaker A

But their life experience has led them to want to coach and help and serve because of their own journey.

Speaker A

Remember I said that was the most powerful thing you got.

Speaker A

So they're building a practice.

Speaker A

So I asked them the same thing.

Speaker A

How many people are you going to reach out to?

Speaker A

What does it look like?

Speaker A

What is the invitation?

Speaker A

What is on offer?

Speaker A

On offer may be just a simple conversation.

Speaker A

One conversation is more important than a thousand, ten thousand likes on a post.

Speaker A

So if you think you're going to build, get past your gatekeeper with social posting and hide behind that anonymity, you're full of crap.

Speaker A

You're Full of crap.

Speaker A

And I don't mean that to insult you.

Speaker A

One conversation's more important than 10,000 of those.

Speaker A

One conversation where you or I show up in love, invitation, kindness, growth, openness trumps any number of, you know, social, social media interactions.

Speaker A

Now here's some other feeling.

Speaker A

If you, if you make a commitment tomorrow, I'm going to do these things.

Speaker A

Send five messages, invite five people to conversation, right?

Speaker A

And the messages, you're concerned about them or meeting them or whatever it is.

Speaker A

Like, this isn't a, a marketing or enrollment episode, although we have done those.

Speaker A

But be prepared to do that.

Speaker A

To say no to the gatekeeper.

Speaker A

To say no to the gatekeeper.

Speaker A

Because they're not real.

Speaker A

The effects are real, but they don't have to block you.

Speaker A

One more second.

Speaker A

Now I have three invitations for you.

Speaker A

Number one, if any of this stuckness resonates in your heart, reach out to me.

Speaker A

My mission is to help 300 million people create wealth and impact with your life story, your skills and your gifts.

Speaker A

I have that message.

Speaker A

I have it powerfully and in a way that will blow your mind and change your heart.

Speaker A

Next, I have methods, processes that are all battle tested.

Speaker A

And by that I mean all on me and on many clients that accomplish those things and eliminate the barriers, the gatekeepers, the fear mongers, the naysayer of our own mind, our inner critic, and give you tools to ignore the sometimes well meaning but useless input of others.

Speaker A

So I have that for you if you want it.

Speaker A

The other invitation is if you have a story that's keeping you stuck or a story that you used to have, sorry, keeping you stuck, and you have overcome that.

Speaker A

Maybe you've overcome depression or illness or addictions or divorces or bankruptcy or betrayals or all of those roles into one.

Speaker A

And you said, no, I won't be that.

Speaker A

I was interviewed on a podcast a couple of days ago and that was the whole premise.

Speaker A

This person had had many failures and now they had overcome those and they were trying to highlight others.

Speaker A

You know, I love them, we're doing exactly the same thing.

Speaker A

So it was a good show and we had the opportunity to, you know, share experiences and lift and bless his audience.

Speaker A

If you have a story of overcoming, a story of your becoming a story of your choices to get past the gatekeeper, I want to share it.

Speaker A

I want to let my audience hear you and I want to meet you.

Speaker A

I want to honor you.

Speaker A

I want to see you.

Speaker A

The third invitation is this one right down here.

Speaker A

Dream Build.

Speaker A

Write it.

Speaker A

If you're watching the video, Dream build.

Speaker A

Write it.

Speaker A

Whoops.

Speaker A

Dream buildwriteit.com and the reason I'm sharing that with you is because if your story remains untold, it remains untapped.

Speaker A

You may use snippets of it here and there, but I can make you a sacred promise.

Speaker A

The work of doing the story arc, which is a process to mine.

Speaker A

That story will change your life, blow your mind, and it'll give you confidence and capability you can't imagine.

Speaker A

Promise.

Speaker A

So go to dream buildwriteit.com I mentioned that earlier, but I'm mentioning it again as our final invitation.

Speaker A

Lastly, as we close, I want you to know that I love you.

Speaker A

You're a divine being.

Speaker A

Speaker A

And you've heard that a million times and it doesn't matter unless you decide to do something.

Speaker A

Your birthright is a life of purpose.

Speaker A

Your birthright is a life of prosperity.

Speaker A

Your birthright is a life of joy.

Speaker A
